Genome-wide expression profiling showed significant overlap of the genetic networks regulated by butyrate in vivo (rat adrenal medulla) and in vitro (PC12 cells) including TH and other neurotransmitter-related genes (DBH, AADC, GTPCH, ppEnk, NPY).
